Old First Presbyterian Church Covered in Ivy

Old First congregant Dan Joraanstad discovered this 1927 "then and now" photo of Old First Presbyterian on FaceBook.

Thank you Lost San Francisco for sharing this terrific comparison by including a download link on your page. The commentary from the Lost San Francisco page reads:

1927 - First Presbyterian Church, built 1911 - Southeast corner of Van Ness and Sacramento Streets. The church was designed by William Charles Hays, Sr., a professor of architecture at the University of California at Berkeley. It is modern North Italian Romanesque and one of the best examples of this style in San Francisco. In the old photo, the church is covered in ivy. Many wonderful cars of the era can be seen. Today this church is called the "Old Presbyterian Church". Thanks to Vladimir Vlad for adding to this information.
